It would be paced evenly with strong enunciation of the words but wouldn't, at the same time, offend the kid by having you give to him something intended for very small children. Perhaps Thomas the Tank Engine or Arthur though, really, anything played on PBS from 1990-2000 aimed for children is probably a good place to start. They're very popular, well-known shows and, chances are, can be found with Russian subtitles somewhere.
