TEFL and TESOL are roughly the same: teaching English as a foreign language to speakers whose first language is not English.

To teach English like this the basic qualifications are a degree and a TEFL Certificate. CELTA is one of a number of TEFL Certificates offered.

i dont know what the others are but TESOL is a course where you can go abroad an teach english to overseas students and the good thing about it is that after a course you become a Professional teacher, it would be ideal to pick a language with TESOL, depending where you would like to go abroad!
