What are some of the requirements that Japanese Universities look for when hiring ESL teachers?

I have taken one year of Japanese in community college. I will have my bachelors from UCLA(hopefully, crossing fingers for acceptance) in a little over 2 years. What should I major in? Anything else I should be doing to make myself a more desirable candidate?
