thinkbeyond asked: I am thinking of taking an ESL certification course to teach English abroad. I am wondering how the economy has affected English teachers particularly in places like Japan and South Korea. How difficult is it to obtain a teaching position abroad with or without the certification?

JarJar Binks asked: I graduated from college a few years ago and am doing nothing that I like, working in a call center. I’m thinking about joining the peace corps and teaching english abroad? Have any of you done this? Is this a hard thing to do? Would I get too homesick?

Michael S asked: What are some good websites for teaching English abroad in Asia?
I am looking to teach primarily in Thailand. Does anyone know of any good websites with companies that offer teaching contracts for Thailand? As well, I am interested in teaching English in Japan, China, Korea, or Vietnam. Can anyone recommend any sites for those places as well?
Best,
Michael

I really want to travel and see some of the world while I’m still young, and Teaching ESL abroad sounds like the right fit for me. However, I cannot get a definitive, step-by-step answer of how to actually put this ambition into motion. Can anyone help?

emm22 asked:
I am 32 years old and thinking about teaching English abroad (probably China). It could be for a year or several years depending how I like it. I am concerned about what type of career I will have when I move back home. Does anyone have experience teaching English abroad and using that experience to move into something else once they returned? By the way I have a degree in HR and would like something related to that or to business in general.

bonngirl2002 asked:
I am interested in spending some time overseas in a teaching capacity. I’ve never done anything like this before and I’m finding the process a little confusing. I did a general search and came up with some interesting prospects but as of now, I have no way of knowing whether the training/placement schools I’ve found are reputable. How do I make sure the sponsor program I choose is on the level?
