What organizations are trustworthy for getting TESOL certification and for placing one abroad to teach ESL?

I don’t want to put money into getting a certificate from an organization that turns out to be nothing more than a piece of paper saying I did it. I want to know if there are any organizations out there that anyone knows are trustworthy and worth it.
