Alex asked: I am supposed to think of the best way to explain the word occasionally to a class of ESL students, but I honestly am stumped. Would I use a picture? Mime it? Realia?
Thanks

watercoloursfmr asked: i am writing an ad to attract ESl students on the Internet to my home to give private lessons. I have written ads but don’t seem to get enough business. I thought perhaps if I posted this question to the community someone might have some information I don’t that could help me get MORE BUSINESS COMING TO MY HOME.
What do you think are effective words to attract students wanting to improve the English who live in the local area. I am interested in attracting Adults and Teenagers.

cmdrdantecrazy asked: I’m prepping for an TEFL interview tomorrow in LA and one of our things is to teach a (pretend) group of Japanese adults who only know basic English.
I’ve been at lost of words on what to teach/how to teach. the guidelines state that we need to prep for a 30 min lesson, however we only need to present 5 mins of our lesson. Any ideas?

Cougar asked:
Which students should be placed with a certified ESL teacher? High functioning, middle functioning or low? I’m not ESL certified & had high students who did extremely well this year. The low students were placed with another non-certified ESL teacher while the middle functioning were placed with the ESL certified teacher. Next year, they are placing the high students with the certified teacher. This doesn’t make sense to me. What are the guidelines?
