I would like to teach English as a Foreign language/ second language in a European country such as Germany. Where is the best place to get a degree in this? Do I need a degree? What are the qualifications for a degree? Any help is welcome.

I’m considering taking English Language and TESOL jointly at University and I’m wondering if this would be enough to qualify me for a job teaching TESOL either overseas or over here? I’ve never actually learnt much of another language, so apart from very few spoken Japanese phrases, I’m stuck with using only English.

I teach ESL to adults. Most students are very kind and respectful, but some do not like following basic rules, like turning off their cell phones. My philosophy of teaching is that I am there to help students, not only to learn the language, but the culture, as well. I help my students with outside issues, such as work questions and paperwork translations. If you are a student who has completed a number of years of ESL, or a teacher, please give me your thoughts. Thank you.
