watercoloursfmr asked: i am writing an ad to attract ESl students on the Internet to my home to give private lessons. I have written ads but don’t seem to get enough business. I thought perhaps if I posted this question to the community someone might have some information I don’t that could help me get MORE BUSINESS COMING TO MY HOME.
What do you think are effective words to attract students wanting to improve the English who live in the local area. I am interested in attracting Adults and Teenagers.

If you have whats your experience like traveling to another country? What kind of students you teach children, adults or both? Is the course worth it for someone who plans to travel? Is the course difficult to pass?

Isabella asked:
I teach ESL to adults. Most students are very kind and respectful, but some do not like following basic rules, like turning off their cell phones. My philosophy of teaching is that I am there to help students, not only to learn the language, but the culture, as well. I help my students with outside issues, such as work questions and paperwork translations. If you are a student who has completed a number of years of ESL, or a teacher, please give me your thoughts. Thank you.

brickity hussein brack asked:
I’ve taught ESL both in the US (to adults) and abroad(to kids). I’ve been wondering what the environment of a high school ESL class is like back in the US. Do you cover all of the subject material that they get in school and teach new words needed for those subjects (science, math, history etc)? Are you just teaching them grammar and converstation while they get content in their native language for the other classes?
Sorry if my questions sound ignorant, I’m really curious.

I am also tutoring their spouses and children, some of whom are fluent, and some of whom are beginners. Also, does anyone know of or have any handouts, tests, diagnostic material, games, vocabulary lists they can send me? Thanks a lot, let me know!
