You should stress to your student that you know how to speak English perfectly and don’t need any more practice. They, on the other hand, don’t know so it is they who should be speaking English as much as possible!
So, get them talking and producing English for as much time as possible. At a basic level, this means you asking open ended questions rather than closed questions, e.g. ask, “What did you do last night?” rather than, “Did you go out last night?”. Joe

You must have a lesson plan. Tell the student the aim or goal of the lesson. Explain the goal in English and then ask him to tell you what you said. Start with the lesson vocabulary. Explain the meaning of the lesson words. Have the student write the words. Have the student speak the words. Then use the words in a way that expresses the correct grammar. g_steed

No they don’t, what the heck are you talking about?
If they’re not talking, then obviously they dont’ understand, and if they dont’ understand, then its your fault! νισℓιη ♥
