Should I go to school for teaching ESL or German?
Ouch My Knee asked:
I am graduating from college with a Major in German language studies and a minor in ESL (English as a Second Language). Next year I will be teaching English in Germany. I need to decide what I want to go to Grad school for before next fall. I want to get my doc. so that I can teach at the college level. I can’ decide which I want to do. Anyone have any pros/cons for either? Or have experiences involving anything related to this.

You only need your Masters to teach at college level, unless you want to be a full professor.
With ESL creds and teaching creds, you also only need your Masters to be a Principle of a school.
Going for a phd to become a full professor may backfire, if there are no professorships available. Noreen
