Tony asked: Hi,
My first language was english and i’ve been in Canada for at least 5 years, i have all my kindergarden and elementry report cards, i’ve went to a international school in hong kong(canada approved international school) for a few years, this year i went back to canada for high school. But they didn’t want my report cards, instead, they thinked that i’m a guy that doesn’t know how to speak english and put me in ESL4. is there anyway that i can get out of esl and go 2 normal classes?
Thanks
i hav a chinese teacher for esl that couldn’t speak perfect english instead she can’t even pronounce some of the words correctly. she gives me a bunch of hwk which i hav to finish in 1 night. she also has some discrimination with some students. i passed ESL test this year but she just personally won’t let me get out of esl.

BusyMom asked: Is ESLpark.com a good company to go through to teach in South Korea? I have been applying to this company and so far it seems to be fine. Does anyone know of any problems that someone has had using ESL Park or problems in Korea? All info is helpful.
Thanks

goodgood asked: I’m an English as a second language learner and hopefully even if my question sounds weird, answer me please in view of my shoes.
I know what the difference between a and an grammatically and I can choose right one in a multiple choice test or in writing because I may have enough time to rethink and correct mistakes if I made.
But in speaking I can’t choose one naturally.
I have to think again “oh, this noun’s first sound is a vowel so I put “an” before the noun…”..
I think the initial reason that English language has a such a rule is to make speakers more comfortable in pronouncing, but as second learner such rule is just a barrier.
So my question is
when you speak a countable noun, what comes to your brain?
Do you choose the noun first or decide to choose a or an?
If you are an ESL teacher and have a good knowhow, please let me know.
thank you.

Jun Young asked: I am wondering about whether the verb ‘cancel’ has to or -ing after cancel.
Let us have two following sentences as an example.
I canceled to play basketball.
I canceled playing basketball.
Which one is correct?
What I want to say is that I kept myself from playing basketball.
I am asking about grammatical question.
I know it is stupid of me to ask question like this.
Thank you in advance.

Jebbie asked: When I was in China I was impressed with how enthusiastic young people seem to be to learn English…On the list of academic priorities, where would Chinese students place learning how to speak and write in English? Is this ability required for university entrance exams and/or to get a good job? And I see lots of info on private schools for English in China, do students feel such extra tutoring is necessary?
