Is it illegal for an ESL teacher to teach private lessons in Korea?
I’ve heard that there are some schools that will allow you to teach private lessons. Is this true? If so, do many schools allow this or is it just a few?

If you’re here on an E-2 visa, then it’s illegal, whether schools allow it or not. Officials are very strict regarding this law, and if caught you will be deported. I have an F-2 visa (because I’m married to a Korean), which made me eligible to teach private lessons, but I was still required to get a license through the Department of Education before I could start teaching legally.

it IS illegal, but every and I mean everyone does it. I’m not telling you to do it, but I would and I KNOW I would be racking in the money!
