ESL students only reach Chemistry with basic skills met. I teach in Las Vegas with a high ESL population. Our students have to pass Biology and Algebra I to take Chemistry. To tell you the truth Chemistry is so abstract that all students would benefit from ESL strategies. Textbook Publishers are not making ESL modified Chemistry books. My co-workers and I have actually spent a considerable amount of time summarizing and typing a "friendly" version of the H.S. texts because the readability level is too high. Depending on what your particular state's chem frameworks are, you should pick a book to meet your needs. Many of them will send a limited number of Spanish resources and books if you request them with your order. You may have to order additional copies as well.
