If you are an ESL teacher in South Korea how much do you charge for private lessons?

Gonzo asked:

Outside the classroom if I am approached by a parent should I charge 20,000 won an hour for private lessons. If you are an ESL teacher was is a good price range to charge? I plan on making some money there so any suggestions would be great.

It really depends on your experience if you have a teaching degree you can charge more, usually when college students go to korea for vacation and do tutoring on the side they charge about 30,000-35,000 won. Hope this helps.

It depends on your teaching quality. Korean parents are going crazy to find affordable tutoring. You should negotiate the price with the parents of the students

20,000 is way too low. In Busan, the going rate is 30,000 and up.
