If you have a college degree, do not get the CELTA certification. The job they will place you in will not be good or good pay. It's easy to find a job on your own. (www.eslcafe.com,,, etc.)

If you don't have a college degree, you probably will need some sort of certification, but their price is very high. You're better off spending the money on college. If you just want to get certified and go to China, you can take a course for closer to $500.

I'm a college graduate, and I found my first job in China in a matter of minutes using the internet.

That's a tricky one. Although quite a few people list SIT along with Cambridge CELTA and Trinity Cert TESOL as the industry standard ones, the CELTA is still more recognised than the others, especially in Europe and the UK but also in chains like International House and the British Council all over the world. Whether you want to stay in China or do a year or two somewhere else too might be a factor. Alternatively, you could phone up or email and ask some questions about specifically that course in that place such as how long it has been running, how long that head trainer has been in charge, how many graduates there are every year etc.
