How Can I Make Use Of A Tesol Qualification in Australia?

tesol
x asked:

I will hopefully finish my Tesol course soon. I would like to know how I can get some solid teaching experience with this qualification whilst I’m still here for the next year. ( Can’t wait to disappear off into an exotic sunset !!!!!!!!!! :P )

Thanks

Do you also have a formal teaching qualification? If so you could apply for schools in multicultural areas that offer English as a second language as a class for students to take.

If you just have the TESOL course, you can get jobs at community centers and charity organizations that run classes for new immigrants/refugees. Just look up the relevant organizations in your area and inquire.
There is also the option of volunteer work with many of these organizations if you don’t necessarily want a paying job (which can be hard to come by).

I would also ask the company that is running the TESOL course for you. Often they have connections with organizations and may be able to set you up with something or point you in the right direction.
