The best you can do is stick to your guns and don't let them try and force you in to a contract you don't want. If you don't like the offer, walk away. ]]> By: carlos l http://www.englishoverseas.com/blog/has-anyone-else-had-a-bad-experience-with-a-korean-esl-recuriting-agency/comment-page-1/#comment-1311 carlos l Sun, 21 Mar 2010 05:53:19 +0000 http://www.englishoverseas.com/blog/has-anyone-else-had-a-bad-experience-with-a-korean-esl-recuriting-agency/#comment-1311 ur rolling the dice when dealing w/ recruiting agencies. i first came to korea in 2005, my recruiter (from a agency called morning calm recruiting now out of business i think) was really wishy washy. gave me many job offers. but the ones i wanted, there was always 'something wrong' as the process went by and she always tried to get me to accept jobs that i didnt want. and everything was (or tried to be) done at THEIR pace. koreans that ive worked with have a reputation for doing everything at the last minute barely thinking (if at all) about how it would affect the other person. that said, if ur planning to work w/ a recruiter i'd probably suggest take more than one at one time. the old saying dont put ur eggs in one basket and if its too good to be true, it probably is both hold a lot of water. b/c at least when ur working w/ more than one, u can weed out the ones u dont trust. but also means ur gonna hve to do ur homework, remember who's who and keep things in line. im in the process of doing that right now. ive taught in korea for 3 years but went back to the states for the past year. in a way its kinda disheartening b/c i have experience and finished my contract(s) there on good terms. but being a person of color (filipino american) i know my chances arent as good compared to a caucasian applicant w/ no experience. especially also not being in country. but thats just how the game's played. and its a dirty one at that. btw...ive heard korvia is pretty good no experience using them but for a public school job, from word of mouth ive heard theyre pretty decent.<a href="http://www.chefcookingware.com/979"> carlos l</a> ur rolling the dice when dealing w/ recruiting agencies.
