glbelle asked:
I’m a student and I’m having a hard time with english as a second language mistakes when I write my essays even though I have good ideas. Therefore, I’m afraid to fail my class just besause of those mistakes especially for someone who is taking an EN102 class.
Thanks for taking time to read my email and I will appreciate any answers or solutions to solve my problem.

Does your school have any kind of writing center? If so, I would suggest that you take your essays there and let them help you. They would probably be better trained than an average person, but you could also consider having a friend or classmate read over your essays, if they are willing.
I am assuming that you are a college student (correct me if I am wrong, I would probably give a different answer). Hopefully most of your classmates who grew up with English as thier first language would be able to identify most of your major ESL mistakes. Keep in mind that some may be more helpful than others (some of them might have thier own grammar/spelling problems) and you should be careful in who you pick.
One other option would be to hire a tutor to read your papers and help you with your mistakes. Again, there is probably somewhere on campus that you would go to find someone like this. At my school it would have been a place called ‘Student Services’, but I can’t say for sure what it would be for you; probably ask around (ask classmates, professors, TA’s, etc.).
I wish I could help you more. I am glad that you are at least looking into getting the help that you need. Too many students just accept their mistakes and don’t do anything about it.
Best of Luck! God Bless!
