I’m interested in finding some teaching materials that emphasize critical thinking and creativity for an advanced class of ESL learners. Any ideas out there? Thank you.

One resource is the Thinking Approach website, which contains some theory, articles, and practical activities for working on thinking skills in the classroom.

Another recommended source is the book Provoking Thought (Booksurge) by Hall Houston. This fairly new book has a large number of communicative activities focusing on creativity, critical thinking and memory skills.

One more similar book is Motivating High Level Learners (Pilgrims) by David Cranmer. It’s over 10 years old, but contains some clever ideas.

Finally, you might go to a website such as mindtools.com or creatingminds.org to get some interesting exercises. similar_not
