Cookie asked: It’s almost a challenge to read some of the questions and answers at this site because so many can’t spell or punctuate. I can’t help but think it has to be a problem teaching proper English. It seems that people is really spelled ppl. I can’t say much because I have grandchildren who are doing this, too. English was my favorite subject in school and college and I cringe when I come across someone who does a lot of text messaging. It’s obvious by all the abreviations and misspellings. How do you get the students to use proper spelling, grammer and punctuation?
Good luck to you.

one_of_a_kind asked: I love tutoring but I am looking for a career now in English as a Second Language. What online schools or schools in Southern California offer this program? Would I need to get a master’s degree or simply a certificate? Are these jobs in demand? Thanks!

Nami asked: I’m looking for a good English as a Second language book, to use for a student of an intermediate level.
I’d like a book which has a balance of speaking, writing, reading, and listening exercises, and has enjoyable stimulus.

Kelly B asked: Hi! I am 23 yrs old and already have a associate’s degree (in art). I would LOVE to be an ESL teacher, as I love reading, writing, and working with immigrants. Can I become a teacher without an English degree? I know I can probably volunteer to teach beginners… but I wonder if I could make it a career. Thoughts?

kas asked: I know that without a college degree, you will most likely teach children. And you should at least have some experience teaching children and a TEFL certificate. I just want to know if you can also receive the round-trip airfare paid for you and the free housing—just like in the other Chinese ESL jobs that require a college degree.
