I want to give my ESL kids projects to do that they’re going to have to put effort into/spend more than 10 minutes on. Do you have any recommendations?

My first choice is India and surrounding countries. Other Asian countries, Europe and Latin America would be fine. I could get certified and do volunteer ESL work in America. I have lived in 9 American states and Germany. I don’t stay put for more than a few years most of the time. Thanks for the answers in advance.

This will be my 1st year teaching and I’ll be teaching a kindergarten self-contained ESL class. The first 2 days of school are half-days and I needed an idea of something to do with them that perhaps gets them acquainted. Any ideas??? (They are ELLs and most probably won’t know much ENglish, if any).

I would like to teach ESL in China in the next few months. There is a company called English First who will certify me through SIT. English First will also place me in a job. The SIT certification is 1,995.00 and CELTA is 2,495. Is is worth paying the extra money to get the CELTA cert. I do not plan on living overseas forever probably just a couple of years.

Outside the classroom if I am approached by a parent should I charge 20,000 won an hour for private lessons. If you are an ESL teacher was is a good price range to charge? I plan on making some money there so any suggestions would be great.

I am looking for schools in an area that offer an ESL program (English as a Second Language) and wondering if there is a good place that would list these.

I am recent high school graduate, and have just returned from teaching English in Brazil for the summer as a volunteer. Now that I am home the pressure is on to figure out where I am going to college. My original top three choices have all accepted me.. but now I find myself leaning toward the college that I visited while I was in Brazil. I want to go into secondary education with an esl minor. The goal is to eventually be teaching english to exchange students who are in highschool. The problem is, even though I speak some portugese, I am not terribly fluent. This would put me a semester behind, as I would be required to attend portugese classes, if I do attend UNASP in Brazil. This would end up costing my parents more money in the long run.. I guess my question is, is it worth going to Brazil and picking up Portugese? Would it benefit my major in any way or should I stick to my original choices?
