When I was in China I was impressed with how enthusiastic young people seem to be to learn English…On the list of academic priorities, where would Chinese students place learning how to speak and write in English? Is this ability required for university entrance exams and/or to get a good job? And I see lots of info on private schools for English in China, do students feel such extra tutoring is necessary?

I can understand , I can write but I can’t talk …when I have to say something I get stuck , I hate myself for that……I’m 24 and I’d like to talk with people my own age or older ! It’s almost a challenge to read some of the questions and answers at this site because so many can’t spell or punctuate. I can’t help but think it has to be a problem teaching proper English. It seems that people is really spelled ppl. I can’t say much because I have grandchildren who are doing this, too. English was my favorite subject in school and college and I cringe when I come across someone who does a lot of text messaging. It’s obvious by all the abreviations and misspellings. How do you get the students to use proper spelling, grammer and punctuation?

hi.. I am a Chinese Indonesian female. I have korean boyfriend and plan to live in korea, but because the living cost in korea is really expensive. So i plan to find a job before moving there. I think the only job that does not require korean language skill is teaching english. The problem is I come from non native english speaker country. Is it possible to teach english in south korea and do i need to have TEFL /TESOL certificate?
